Hello, my name is Dominique Izabella Little
and I am delighted to welcome you to a curation of my work.
Since a child, I’ve been interested in the complexity of what it means to be human. I began to explore this professionally as a doci-filmmaker and photographer in South Africa, where I was born. With my love for all things film, I then seized the opportunity to train as an actress in New York. Having completed full-time conservatory training, I now live and work as an actress in London. My lifestyle is one of the actor’s practice, which also beautifully nourishes my writing and directing. I recently signed with a wonderful talent agent and am currently auditioning. I am also writing two feature length screenplays and am almost finished a 23-part short-form web-series which I produced, directed and am now editing.

TRAINING
New York:
The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute (Conservatory Training)
The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Foundational Training)Los Angeles:
Trained and mentored by Diane Venora (Heat, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet, first female Hamlet on Broadway).
Benjamin Mathes - immersed full-time whilst editing the studio’s methodology into a book, teaching which significantly deepened my access to joy within the work.
These dynamic schools of thought give life to how I approach my work as a creative.
SOLD BY MAMA
WRITTEN AND PERFORMED BY DOMINIQUE IZABELLA LITTLE
I am currently writing the screenplay for Sold By Mama, inspired by the one-woman show that I wrote, directed and performed in London.
Sold By Mama brings to life the true stories of women caught up in the global multi-billion-dollar sex trafficking market. A snapshot into a world that promises fun and easy money through sex work, but is deeply entrenched in inter-generational trauma, mental illness and addiction. A place where childhood dreams morph into brothels and onto the streets of Los Angeles.
The play was fast paced and told with humour amidst the heartache, as I transitioned back and forth between four electric women. Introducing you to Mama, a Madame with her Masters in seduction; King, the Californian Queen of Recruitment; Blue, Renegade Appalachian hustler and Miss International, jail-time done and time to shine! Women chasing highs born from the darkest lows, amidst a disturbing reality of villains and exploitation.
Mid-pandemic I moved from New York to Hollywood for acting. Having grown accustomed to walkable cities, I spent a lot of time navigating LA by foot and public transport. The city’s much-ignored heartbeat has given life to characters graceful, provoking, shocking and profound, as they navigate the brash thrill of life on the streets.
Sold By Mama premiered as a 40 minute one-woman show at The Hen & Chickens Theatre, for The Camden Fringe Festival in Aug 2022. Sold By Mama then performed as part of The Hope Theatre’s Autumn season, Sep 2022, where I was assisted by dramaturg James S Barnes.

THIS IS FICTION
This Is Fiction™ is a short-form web-series (23 episodes, +/- 5mins each). Uncomfortable, shocking and hilarious real people, real conversations, real events, but fictional narrative. This docu-fiction hybrid is an entertaining and raw look at life through the eyes of millennial subcultures in Johannesburg, South Africa. Piloted in exclusive focus group hangouts, in 21 cities around the world. The show is currently in post-production. Set for release online in 2024.
“We’ll show you the scenes that you need to see to believe, but it’s make believe.
This is not a documentary.
This is Fiction™.”
PARODY GANG
‘This Is Fiction™’ couldn’t be done alone, so I started Parody Gang™, the creative collective that I ran full-time for 5 years. Working alongside eight part-time collaborators from different industries, we set out to provoke thought using film and design. The Parody Gang™ members have spread out across the globe and continue to engage curiously and critically through their chosen paths in the arts, architecture, film, digital marketing and sustainability.

PHOTOGRAPHY
After I received my Bachelor of Journalism (Honours) in Photojournalism, I worked professionally as a photographer and videographer. This led me to capture some of the most beautiful people and places through my lens. Whilst on the road for two months as stills photographer for a South African adventure race and cooking contest, I photographed in deserts, rivers, mountains, on boats, horseback, through snow, rain, and sunshine. My favourite was Lesotho, where many of the photographs below were taken.
